This place is a hidden gem in NYC. We ate here before our broadway show. They have a three course meal for $26.95 and it's worth every penny!
The staff is the kindest humans I have met. Our waiter Mike had the best service I have received in Manhattan. I can't speak highly enough of their team. We will be coming back to Maria Pia next time we are in the city. Great experience. Great food. Great atmosphere!
Must eat at Maria Pia! Highly recommend! -

Friends and I came to NYC for a weekend of Broadway shows, and wanted to have a nice meal out before seeing our Friday night show. There's no shortage of restaurants in New York City, but we knew we wanted something delicious, affordable, and close to the theatres. I asked around and a friend recommended this place. Turns out it was literally right next to the hotel we were staying at so the location couldn't be more perfect. We made a reservation, which was probably a smart call because the restaurant was pretty full when we arrived.
The meals were delicious. My friends all got different types of ravioli (they said the lobster was to die for, and the butternut squash was so tasty), while I got chicken marsala which was absolutely delicious. The service was attentive (lots of water refills) and the prices weren't unreasonable considering the location (if this was a restaurant in Toronto the prices would have been doubled just because it was close to the theatres). We also were wrapped up within about an hour, meaning we had plenty of time to get to our show, however we never felt rushed.
This really felt like a nice little hidden gem that we will definitely return to. -

I wish I could give you a review of the food here--but we actually never received our food.
My friends and I were here for a drag brunch on the Saturday of World pride--which was a rather busy weekend--but this place was not nearly prepared to take on a drag brunch of this size.
Disorganization was rampant from before we even entered the restaurant as the earlier brunch got out late--probably because of backed up food orders.
Anyways, when they first seated us, they sat us in the back of the restaurant--which does not get to see very much of the drag show at all, so we asked to be reseated and ended up finding our own table because of the utter chaos that was the seating process.
The actual drag show with Tina Burner was great--but everything else was a complete disaster. That being said, the waiters and other staff were working very hard and were friendly, but there clearly was no one running the ship.
Overall, this was quite an experience (probably heightened by having bottomless mimosas with no food) and our group had a lot of fun, but it was a nightmare as it went way over time and we did not end up getting fed. -

If you are looking for outstanding food and spectacular customer service, look no further. I am visiting NYC this weekend and we went here this evening for dinner and I was blown away. Our server was so accommodating and he took such great care of us.
Our family split the calamari and zucchini with the tomato sauce and it was outstanding. Their tomato sauce was SO GOOD! I wish that I could have MORE!
For the entree, I ordered the gnocchi and that was beyond fabulous. I loved the sauce that it came it.
Not to mention, they bring you free bread and olive oil to dip it in, which is so delicious.
Thank you so much Maria Pia for taking care of us, we will 100% be returning! -

Place was ok, not bad but not great, we wanted to get ramen next door but the wait was too long. Good service the food just left something to be desired, not huge portions and relatively expensive for the quality, wouldn't go back.
